In the competitive world of technology sales, Adrian Pierce is excellence in motion. Adrian is the Vice President of Americas Sales at Tektronix, an international test and measurement solutions company. For the past ten years, Adrian has led and driven success across global technology organizations, including Vice President of Americas Sales at Freescale/NXP and Global Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Ladder Tech. Adrian attributes his excellence to his competitive personality and the desire to win. Adrian says, “I focus on building extraordinary sales teams and get them to buy into a strategy of excellence.”
Beyond his professional excellence, Adrian is an example of a loving, caring, and present father. He has three kids and spends quality time with all of them. He recognizes the importance of being a good role model and mentoring his kids. His parenting foundation is Christianity, instilling good behavior, including teaching right from wrong. His goal is to put his kids in positions to be successful in life.
Adrian states, “I discipline when needed, but I also praise when deserving.”
Black excellence to Adrian is doing the things we are not supposed to do. Showing the world that Black people can do anything. We can be millionaires, CEOs, and global leaders. There are no limits on what we, as Black people and the Black community can accomplish. One of Adrian’s early signs of black brotherhood excellence was working with his brother to coordinate an all-male cook-off in which the men did the cooking and cleaning, and the women judged the dishes. The event was an opportunity for a joyous community gathering within the black community.
Adrian was destined for success and his global business mindset was set at an early age from the four years he spent living in Spain. Adrian is not just an example of Black excellence; he also works to pave the way for future young black professionals through mentoring with organizations like the National Society of Black Engineers and being an example daily of how to be successful in the technology sector.
